The outstanding achievements of staff and volunteers across Musgrove Park Hospital and Somerset Partnership were celebrated at the sponsored Our People Awards last week (Thursday, 22 November).
The awards celebrate those who go the extra mile to provide outstanding care to patients, who have gone above and beyond to work together, and who have made a real difference to the lives of others by listening and leading.
In 11 award categories, individual staff and teams from across both organisations and volunteers were recognised for their achievements over the past year. With more than 200 entries, judges had a tricky task in shortlisting the final nominees in each category who were then invited to a celebratory Our People Awards evening at the Somerset County Cricket Club where the winners were announced.
The event was sponsored by a number of companies, including those who work with the trusts and others from the local community.
Peter Lewis, chief executive of Musgrove Park Hospital and Somerset Partnership, said: “This is the first year that we have held a joint celebration evening for staff and volunteers across Musgrove and Somerset Partnership and I am very proud of the stories we have heard about how our staff and volunteers are making a difference to the lives of our
patients and each other.”
