Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service received numerous calls from members of the public reporting a car on fire outside a fast food restaurant at Heron Gate.
The incident happened just after 11.30pm yesterday evening, Nov 28th next to McDonalds drive through.
One fire appliance from Taunton was immediately mobilised by Fire Control.
On arrival the incident commander confirmed that one vehicle was well alight and crews quickly got to work to extinguish the fire using one hose reel jet and two breathing apparatus.
Crews requested the attendance of police as they believed that the fire was started deliberately.
