The Sangha House in Taunton has won an award at the 2018 Somerset Business Awards.
The winners of the Somerset Business Awards were announced at a glittering black-tie event on Friday 19th October, where nearly 400 influential business people celebrated the best of Somerset businesses at Wellsprings Leisure Centre in Taunton.
Hosted by Somerset cricket all-rounder and cult hero, Peter Trego, the 14 Awards were presented by their sponsors, before the winners were announced and invited on stage to collect their trophy and give a short speech.
Sponsored by Teapot Creative, The Best New Business award celebrates businesses who have been trading for less than three complete financial years. The judges were looking for innovative and passionate businesses, with a new idea or a new business concept.
Barry Tottle and Lizzie Ginbey presented this year’s Award to the Sangha House after meeting with us, talking through our approach and business model and chatting with some of our customers.
Andy & Denise Spragg commented; “We are so proud to receive this award. Roll the clocks back 10 years and we don’t believe a business like ours would have been selected for an award such as this. We would have been seen as rather “whacky” or “Out there”. But here we are standing here amongst other more traditional business.”
When asked about what the Sangha House offers, Andy told Tone FM, “At its heart, the centre is based on the Buddhist practise of Mindfulness. Pulling together a number of mindfulness based practises and holistic health approaches; we wish to bring a single place to Taunton where people can develop a deeper connection with their own bodies, with their friends, families and colleagues and with the world in general.”
“Our centre focuses on holistic health and well-being. People will experience Tai Chi, Yoga, Pilates, personal training a number of therapies (massage, reflexology, reiki, tui na, counselling, hypnotherapy etc) and talks and lectures from experts. We have over 30 Holistic Health Practitioners on the team to offer many and varied consultations and treatments.
