Taunton Cider Joins The Great Exmoor Ride

Rewards aplenty at the Great Exmoor Ride

The Great Exmoor Ride is taking place on Sunday 2nd September 2018 and there’s plenty on offer this year for those taking part.

The Ride starts in Taunton and ends by the sea on the West Somerset coast at Blue Anchor near Minehead, and first & foremost it offers a stunning 66-mile (105km) route through quiet Somerset country lanes and across the eastern part of Exmoor National Park.

Participants can look forward to a great personal challenge courtesy of a spectacular route that is designed to be challenging but also very do-able, and at the 2017 test event the route was given a resounding &thumbs up by those who took part.

This year riders can look forward to some significant additions and rewards to help keep them going – a new partnership with The Protein Ball Co will see riders provided with free  energy balls at the start to fuel them along the way, and at the finish another new partnership with The Taunton Cider Co means that EVERY rider who crosses the finish line will be presented with a free bottle of award-winning Taunton Cider.

But that’s not all – The Taunton Cider Co will also be offering every rider a free finish line photo as an extra memento of the day. Plus there’s a quality BBQ included for riders, there will be an event bar at the finish area, and everyone will also receive a bespoke 2018 GER medal for their efforts and achievement.

A spokesman commented: “We’ve got some excellent Partners supporting the event, and they ALL add real value for our riders – their products genuinely enhance the rider experience and they are helping us to create an event where fun and enjoyment are top of the list. It is a quite spectacular route and we know from our test event that there is a real sense of enjoyment and achievement for everyone at the finish, and our end-of-Ride offering will just be adding further to that. After all, free food, drink, a photo and a lovely medal has to go down well when you’ve just completed a great challenge!”

The event is registered with British Cycling, and participants benefit from a whole host of event support services, including clear route signage, medical cover, and mobile mechanical support throughout the route.

There is s certainly an awful lot on offer with this event and a seriously spectacular route means that anyone who takes on the challenge will certainly have earned their rewards! Further information and full details on the event, including how to enter, can be found at www.greatexmoorride.com
