Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service received reports of a caravan on fire in Churchstanton, Nr Taunton last night just before 8pm.
Fire control mobilised two fire appliances from Wellington, one from Taunton and an Operational Assurance Officer.
A spokesperson commented; “On arrival crews confirmed that the caravan was well alight and crews got to work extinguishing the fire using 2 breathing apparatus wearers and 1 hose reel jet.”
At 21:44 the fire was out and crews were making up equipment. The caravan was 100% damaged by fire and was extinguished using 2 breathing apparatus wearers, 1 hose reel jet and 1 compressed air foam jet. A thermal imaging camera was also used to ensure there were no remaining hot spots.
Police were requested to attend.
