ROLE AT TONE FM: Presenter of the Sunday Weekend Breakfast show
STUFF YOU LIKE DOING: I am a massive gym bunny – the gym is a big part of my life. I go most days, I am a fan of the group classes including circuits, spinning, HIT, body pump, and anything that is fast and furious. Not only do I love the exercise but I love the social side too and have a great group of very sociable like minded, somewhat bonkers friends that share my enthusiasm.
I adore browsing the charity shops with a like-minded friend – love a bargain.
Coffee and cake (I’m allowed it given that I burn calories in exercise classes) with my wonderful friends – having a good old chin wag and putting the world to rights.
I love art (abstract in particular), reading and theatre – I like serious theatre performances mostly, having said that I love watching slapstick films, especially old black-and-white films. I adore the old films on the Talking Pictures Channel.
Although I am a new presenter with Tone FM I have been involved in radio for some time and I absolutely love presenting a live radio show.
MOST EMBARRASSING MOMENT: Many years ago a friend and I hired a big camper van to tour France. We found ourselves in a quaint village in the Alps and were trundling along happily through the village on a very small, steep and very windy road which gradually became alarmingly narrower and narrower. Eventually, our van became too wide for the road and we were stuck after numerous attempts to reverse, which involved a lot of engine revving, we realised we were incapable of backing up this very steep and slender road. We drew a crowd of amused and excitable French locals shouting advice, which didn’t help our nerves. Things went from bad to worse, but eventually, a gentleman offered to help (it turned out he was a lorry driver by trade). He saved the day and very slowly and carefully reversed the van for us. The whole experience was excruciatingly humiliating.
