Somerset County Cricket Club have teamed up with Taunton-based Viridor, one of the UK’s largest recycling and renewable energy companies, to help the Club hit recycling targets for six!
The new agreement will see Viridor remain as the Club’s Official Recycling Partner for another two years. Typically, more than 60% of general waste from activities at the Cooper Associates County Ground is recycled and over 3,000 bins are serviced.
Somerset CCC Corporate Relationship Manager Guy Wolfenden said: “We have worked with Viridor for several years and have established an excellent working relationship. Viridor more than meets all of our recycling needs and with its offices on Priory Bridge Road, it truly is a local business!
“The importance of recycling is at an all-time high, so it’s essential that we partner with an expert company that shares our passion for protecting the environment and using resources wisely and sustainably.”
Viridor is an award-winning company which supports the UK’s resource efficiency by transforming domestic and commercial waste and recyclables into high quality raw materials and renewable energy.
Part of the FTSE 250 Pennon Group plc, Viridor is committed to creating and delivering value for its customers and stakeholders whilst making a positive contribution to the development of employees, the environment and the communities it serves.
Sarah Luke from Viridor said: “We are delighted to continue our long and close association with Somerset County Cricket Club and wish them every success, on and off the field, not least in helping the Club to recycle as much waste as possible.
“As two local enterprises with shared values, it’s great to be able to team up again and be batting for the same sustainable objective.”
