THE Crescent car park in Taunton will be closed for two nights on July 4 and 5 for essential improvements – re-surfacing and filling in potholes.
The work is being carried out by Taunton Deane Borough Council in the evening to minimise disruption for drivers as The Crescent is one of Taunton’s busiest car parks.
The closure will operate from 5.45pm with the car park re-opening as normal the following mornings. Anyone who is unable to move their car before the closure will be let out by those working on the site.
However, as the Crescent is usually virtually empty by the time of the closure, numbers are expected to be very low.
A spokesperson commented “The work is being done as time and the weather has taken its toll on the car park’s surface and is part of a package of car park investment agreed by the Borough Council. Advance signs warning of the closure will be going up to make sure people are aware of the work.”
