LPG gas leak on Station Road

LPG gas leak on Station Road

TWO fire engines from Taunton were sent to a report of a vehicle leaking LPG gas in Station road this morning (Weds 30th) at around 10am.

On arrival the crew confirmed that the gas board were in attendance and there were low levels of gas showing on the gas detector.

Shortly after arriving the crews requested the attendance of a third fire engine for compressed air foam capability – this was also sent from Taunton Fire Station.

The crew set up a cordon and continued to monitor the gas readings while liaising with the gas board.
The vehicle was removed to open ground to allow it to vent naturally and the gas leak was stemmed.

Duty of care was then left with the gas board and the owner.
