Generous donation benefits children having MRI scans

Children having an MRI at Musgrove Park Hospital will be able to relax a little more thanks to a new piece of technology.

A DVD player has been installed into one of the scanners to help occupy children while they are undergoing their MRI.

It’s all thanks to the Marion Evered Trust – a local group who have tirelessly fundraised and donated money to Musgrove over the years. The most recent donation was a cheque for £20,000 which was presented to Suzanne Pilkington, matron of the children’s unit by representatives of the trust.

Matron Pilkington said: “We are overwhelmed with the continuing hard work and commitment from this group of people who are dedicated to improving the lives of children with cancer in any way that they can while under our care here at Musgrove.”
