West Country Scribes are holding their biennial Calligraphy / Arts Exhibition in Taunton next month.
They are a lively group who meet monthly at Rockwell Village Hall near Wellington who also regularly have visits from some of the top calligraphers in the country. They are introduced to new scripts and techniques, helping them to enhance and expand their skills.
A spokesperson commented; “Our founder member Gillian King, who set up the group in the 70’s is now 90 years old. Gillian is still an active member of our committee, takes classes and does commissions. Rosa Parsloe, now the President has been instrumental in keeping the group lively and interesting.”
Rosa runs beginners classes in Taunton and also does commissions. Other members also undertake commissions.
The exhibition is taking place at The Gallery at Taunton Library 1st -13th October. Entry is free.
Pop along and see their work and have a chat.
