Wiltshire Police are appealing for witnesses after an elderly woman sadly died following a road traffic collision on the A303.
The two-vehicle collision happened on the Westbound carriageway of the A303, close to Chicklade, at around 11.10am yesterday (18/09/19).
The incident involved a white Volvo and a motorhome.
A Police spokesperson commented; “The driver of the motorhome, a woman in her 80s from the Taunton area, sadly died at the scene. Her next of kin have been informed and our thoughts are with them at this very sad time. A dog which was inside the motorhome also sadly died. The driver of the Volvo suffered minor injuries.”
“The road was closed in both directions for approximately five hours to allow collision investigation work to take place and for the scene to be cleared.”
“We are appealing for anyone who saw either vehicle beforehand, or who witnessed the collision, to call PC Charlotte Sartin, from Wiltshire Police’s Collision Investigation Unit, on 101.”
