Taunton visitor guide launched at event

English Tourism Week saw the launch of Taunton’s latest visitor guide by Mayor of Taunton Deane Hazel Prior-Sankey.

The launch took place at The Museum of Somerset in the heart of the county town – currently hosting an exhibition on the life and works of best-selling author Michael Morpurgo whose works include War Horse.

The 48-page guide has grown from the previous 36-page edition produced in 2017 and has been written by Giles Adams of What’s On Somerset fame, in conjunction with the Visit Taunton team.

The majority of the guides are being distributed via Take One Media to key locations – visitor centres, supermarkets, key gateway locations in the day-travel distance of Taunton.

Cllr Mark Edwards, whose business portfolio includes tourism and marketing, said: “The guide is a great introduction to our area and builds on the previous very successful publication. Our Visitor Centre team has been going from strength to strength and we are looking forward to a great 2018.”
