Avon & Somerset police are appealing for witnesses after a woman was robbed in Taunton.
The victim, who is aged in her 30s, had walked through Victoria Park and was on Somerset Place heading towards the underpass leading to Leycroft Road when she was approached by a man.
The man asked the woman for a cigarette before pushing her into a hedge from behind after she had told him she didn’t have one.
He then produced what is believed to be a knife and demanded the woman’s belongings before making off with a Waitrose carry bag.
The incident happened on Wednesday, 5th December sometime between 9.45pm and 10.05pm.
The man is described as white, approximately 5ft 8ins tall, aged in his early or mid-20s, of medium build and clean shaven.
