Taunton host the Bathwick Tyres Saturday Meeting on January 20th when the card boasts almost £79k in prize money and includes one Class 2 and two Class 3 events with the first race due off at 12.30pm.
The management at Taunton racecourse are once again very grateful for the continued generous support of Bathwick Tyres who contribute so much to racing in the south west.
Saturday racing at the Orchard Portman has attracted an increasing following so a large crowd is expected to go along and enjoy the action.
First up is The Bathwick Tyres British EBF ‘National Hunt’ Novices’ Hurdle Race over two miles and three furlongs which is followed by The Bathwick Tyres Taunton Steeple Chase (A Novices’ Limited Handicap) over two miles at 1pm.
The next race is The Bathwick Tyres Bath Novices’ Hurdle Race half an hour later over two miles and half a furlong.
The first of the Class 2 events The Bathwick Tyres Yeovil Steeple Chase (A Novices’ Limited Handicap) over two miles seven furlongs, that is worth £9,357 to the winner is due off at 2pm.
The is followed half an hour later by the big event of the day The Bathwick Tyres Senior’s Handicap Hurdle Race, (Class 2) over two miles three furlongs which has a prize pot of a cool £18,500.
The days action concludes with the second of the Class 3 races, The Bathwick Tyres Bridgwater Handicap Steeple Chase over two miles which starts at 3pm.

A courtesy coach service departs from Taunton Railway Station two hours before the off returning from the course 30 minutes after the start of the last race.
