Local businesses wishing to celebrate their success have until the 29th March to apply for the prestigious Taunton Deane Business Awards.
Every business has its own set of strengths to celebrate and, funnily enough, many businesses never realise just how many they had until they sat down and listed them.
Pam Knight of TDBA told us; “We all get so bogged down with the day to day running of the business; fretting about work, too little, too much. We rarely sit down and take an outside-in look at our companies.”
“This year we have 10 categories, and you can enter up to three, which triples your chances! We have companies from every business type entering, from large manufacturers to one man bands, start-ups to businesses that have been established in Taunton Deane for over a hundred years, all celebrating their business success.”
“The TDBA website gives people a good indication of what the judges are looking for from each application. Answering the questions clearly and sending supporting data goes a very long way to ensuring that you paint the best picture you can of your business. You can never be 100% sure you won’t be shortlisted!”
30 businesses will be excited to hear they are finalists on the 26th April and you could be one of them?
Paul Smith from Word Gets Around, a previous entrant, said what he got out of the process:
“Going through the process of entering the awards help you realise what you have achieved, helps you focus on your vision for the future. Anyone who enters awards like this will find they really focus on their core strengths and values, areas you can improve. You get the opportunity to take a helicopter view. I really enjoyed the process and got a lot out of it.”
The ceremony will be held at the Somerset County Cricket Club on the 27th June.
