Saucy actors wanted for two week open air tour

Taunton Thespians are preparing for their 17th annual two week outdoor touring production but are short of a few actors.

Taunton Thespians are telling tales this summer – not any old tales, but four of Chaucer’s best: the Wife of Bath’s Tale, the Miller’s Tale, the Reeve’s Tale and the Nun’s Priest’s Tale. Spicy, saucy and colourful, these tales stand the test of time and have been jauntily translated into modern rhyming couplets by Jeremy Secker in such a way that they are instantly understood and enjoyed.

Nicola Dawson, of Taunton Thespians commented; “I’m very happy to say that we already have 6 men and 5 women on board for this year’s two week, open air summer tour of Somerset.  (Plus a trust team of backstage heroes.) However, we need more! Especially more of you ladies out there… there are many lovely small roles for you, so don’t worry about having too large a line load!”

She added; “Please come along to the audition for Telling Canterbury Tales this Thursday, 13th April, 7.30pm at The Place.”

Rehearsals start Monday 24th April and will run on Mondays and Thursdays, with performances from 11th to 22nd July.
