David Mitchell, Joint Owner of the farm shop, which is located on the A38 between Taunton and Wellington, said: “This was our second quiz of the year in aid of Headway Somerset, which is one of our charities of the year. We raised £350 from our raffle and £130 from the entry fees for the quiz. We would like to say a big ‘thank you’ to everyone who came along.

“In January we held our first Charity Quiz & Supper Evening for Headway and it managed to raise £546. We’re delighted that in total we have fundraised £1,026 for the organisation just from our quiz evenings.

“The events have proven very popular with our customers and are a great chance for families, friends and work colleagues to get together for some healthy competition. The winning team this time was The CooperlessBarrel and each team member got to take home a hamper and also the Rumwell Cup. We hope they come back to our last quiz night of the year on Friday, October 26 to defend their title.”

Headway Somerset provides social and cognitive rehabilitation for adults with brain injury and support and respite for their families through its four Brain Injury Centres based in Bridgwater, Henton, Yeovil & Taunton.

Deborah Parsons, Community Fundraiser at Headway Somerset, said: “Thank you to Rumwell Farm Shop for once again hosting their quiz in our honour. Their support is really important to us and every penny we receive helps us to go that one step further to improving life after brain injury for people in Somerset.”
