Traineeships are a new opportunity for young people to gain real life work experience and the training needed to progress into an apprenticeship or start work.

Students receive professional support from a mentor who will help them develop their CV, interview skills and confidence. Students also complete a top quality work placement with a local business for six weeks to get real work experience, with the content tailored to their individual career aspirations.

The 15 week course is open to young adults aged 16-24 who are unemployed and do not currently hold a Level 3 qualification.

Emma Reynolds who completed a Traineeship at Huish commented “As a result of me doing the course I now have the ability to attend and be successful in interviews and have now been offered a job within the sector I wanted. I think the course is ran really well and I’ve enjoyed working with Leanna who has helped me a lot with many aspects.”
