Police change enquiry office opening hours

From 3 September 2018 the opening hours of police enquiry offices in Somerset will be changing, following a review of the service across Avon and Somerset.

Alongside improvements in the police estate and the need to make significant savings, the changes reflect the low footfall in some areas at certain times of the day.

Our priority is to have enquiry offices across the force area open at the times that our communities need them.  We will continue to have police enquiry offices open 7 days a week and our neighbourhood police officers will continue to work in their local communities.

Somerset area commander Supt Mike Prior said: “Next month there will be some changes to our enquiry offices across Somerset to make sure we are open at the times that we are needed the most and that we continue to be visible in our communities.

“We are committed to keeping our neighbourhood police officers based in their local communities.”
