Avon & Somerset Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious collision on the A303 near Ilminster this morning. (Sun 19th Aug)
At about 8.10am a red Hyundai i10 and a silver Ford Fiesta were involved in a collision.
A Police spokesperson commented; “We’d like to speak to anyone who may have seen the incident or the cars beforehand. If you can help please call 101 and quote log 299 of today, Aug 19th.”
The fire service were called to assist with the collision where multiple persons were understood to be trapped. One crew from Ilminster, one crew from Chard, two crews from Taunton and the specialist rescue tender from Yeovil attended.
A Fire spokesperson commented; “On arrival the crews confirmed a road traffic collision involving two vehicles with two persons trapped. Crews used two sets of hydraulic cutting equipment to release one casualty from each vehicle.”
The incident was left in the hands of the Police & the road was re-opened at around 1pm today.
