Bridge St assault in Taunton

Murder enquiry – Police appeal for help

Avon & Somerset Police are appealing for the public’s help in their investigation into the murder of Heather Jordan in Taunton at the weekend.

She was found in Lyngford Park on Sunday morning.

The investigation is now focusing on the area between Priorswood Primary School and Taunton railway station, where it is believed, items they need to trace may have been discarded by the suspect. Specialist teams are searching the area but the Police also appeal to members of the public to search sheds, garages, outbuildings any and bins outside your homes.

The Police are keen to trace a ZTE mobile phone; a brown and yellow coloured purse and clothing which may have been discarded. The clothing could be concealed in a bag.

If you have seen or spot the items, do not touch them but call 101 immediately and ask to speak to the Major Crime Investigation Team.

Police have extra neighbourhood officers patrolling in the area to provide reassurance and receive information. You can raise any concerns you may have with the officers.

You can also provide information directly to the investigative team on-line at mipp.police.uk where you need to select the tab relating to the murder of Heather Jordan.

The 52-year-old man arrested in connection with the investigation, continues to be questioned by detectives.
