Living Well Exhibition takes place this weekend

Musgrove Park Hospital’s Beacon Centre invites anyone living with one or more health condition to their ‘Living Well Exhibition’ at the North Street Church Rooms (opposite Debenhams), Taunton, on Saturday 18 March, from 10am to 1.30pm.

Visitors will be able to find out about local support organisations, volunteering prospects, and hobby, exercise and activity groups which support good health and wellbeing. There will also be an opportunity to talk to healthcare professionals and sample some of the activities and services displayed.

Musgrove’s associate director of patient-centred care, Karen Holden, said: “The exhibition is an ideal opportunity for people to gain advice, guidance and information that will help them enjoy the fullest of lifestyles and engage in activities that could be beneficial to their conditions.”

No tickets required. Families, friends and carers of people with health conditions are also welcome to attend. Visitors are encouraged to drop in at any time during the event. The venue is close to a number of car parks in the town centre.

Visitors who complete the feedback form at the event will be in with a chance of winning a range of prizes including a Riverford Organics voucher, a consultation and session with GLL leisure centre, a session at a 1610 leisure centre, and one of six free passes to a Riviera Leroc dance class.

Health conditions include arthritis, asthma, diabetes, epilepsy, allergies and cancer, but there are many more.

Musgrove’s Beacon Centre provides cancer treatment to people living in Somerset and the surrounding area. It enables approximately 1,200 cancer patients each year to have their treatment more locally, so that they don’t have to travel the long distance to Bristol for their radiotherapy treatment.
