Ladies Day comes to Taunton Races

Taunton race again on Thursday April 4th when they host their ever popular Ladies Day Meeting when the first of the seven races on the card, which has a very generous prize pot in excess of £57k, is off at 2.05pm.

First to post is The Muriel Bell Memorial Handicap Hurdle Race over two miles and half a furlong which is followed half an hour later by the Racing TV Novices’ Hurdle Race over two miles four.

The Porter Dodson Solicitors & Advisors Handicap Steeple Chase over two miles two furlongs is next up which carries a total prize fund of £10,800

The feature race on the card is The Dave Criddle Travel Handicap Hurdle (Class3) at 3.35pm, over a distance of two miles and three furlongs which has a massive £13,800 up for grabs in prizes.

The SARSAS; Listening, Believing and Supporting Handicap Hurdle Race over about three miles- the longest of the day is next followed by The Pontispool Equine Sports Centre Maiden Hunter’s Steeple Chase over two miles and seven furlongs which is bound to attract a lot of local interest.

The action on the course concludes with The Evening Meeting 25th April Maiden Open National Hunt Flat Race over two miles and half a furlong.

Apart from the action on the course there will be a competition for the Best Dressed Lady the prize for which is a weekend in Paris for Two generously donated by Dave Criddle Travel.

Racegoers can take advantage of the generous discounts on offer by purchasing tickets on-line in advance before 10am on the day prior to racing by logging onto the Taunton races website.

A courtesy coach service departs from Taunton Railway Station two hours before the first race returning from the course 30 minutes after the start of the last.
