Hosted by the Council’s Early Years team, the event is a chance to meet professionals, training providers and careers advisers who can brief you on what is needed in terms of training and qualifications.

Whether you are thinking about what to do after leaving school, are already working with children or looking for a change of career, the team will have information to help you make the right choices.

Councillor Frances Nicholson, Cabinet Member for Children and Families, said: “Helping to ensure children get the best start in life is one of the most rewarding things you can do.

“I recommend this careers fair to anyone who thinks they have something to offer and want to work with young children.”

Working with children is inspirational and rewarding and local early years providers will be on hand to show you some of the exciting work they do.

Staff at the show will cover:

  • How to become a childminder working from your own home
  • Early Years Apprenticeships/Traineeships
  • Training courses and distance learning
  • Work experience placements
  • Accessing grants
  • How you can develop your career in early years.

The Early Years Careers Fair is on Tuesday 5th June from 2pm to 7pm at the Genesis Centre, Bridgwater and Taunton College, Taunton Campus, Wellington Road, Taunton.
