E-fit released after woman sexually assaulted

Avon and Somerset Police has issued an E-fit of a man they want to identify after a woman was sexually assaulted in Taunton.

A 23-year-old woman was assaulted in Sainsbury’s car-park within Hankridge Retail Park at about 6.30pm on Friday (February 23).

The man in the E-fit was seen standing near a large silver van, which was parked across several spaces close to Sainsbury’s petrol station and next to a grass bank running parallel with the M5.

The offender is white, between 50 and 60 years old, 5ft 8ins, of average build, with short, light brown hair. He was clean-shaven and wearing a black jumper, black trousers and gloves.

A spokesperson commented, “We’d like to hear from anyone who recognises the man in the E-fit, or who saw a man matching the description given in the area of Sainsbury’s car-park on Friday afternoon or evening.”

“We also want drivers using the car-park around the time of the incident to check their dash-cams to see if they captured the large silver van or the offender.”
