TDA (Torbay Development Agency) is excited to announce a second SOUP event following the success of the first one in Torbay last year. This time, it’s coming to Somerset.
SOUP is a crowd funding event that brings people together to raise small-scale investment to kick-start new businesses or ideas.
Ges Green, Somerset Enterprise Centres Manager, said: “SOUP events are a fantastic opportunity to network whilst supporting new enterprise. We are excited to be working in partnership with the Chamber of Commerce to bring this event to Somerset. The concept is great and it gives new businesses the opportunity to raise funds to launch their business idea.
“We are looking for entrepreneurs to come forward, pitch their business idea and win a fantastic package. The winning business will take away a prize worth a minimum of £750 including cash, business support and promotional opportunities. The reward up for grabs will give the entrepreneur and their business every chance of success.”
The winning business will receive a package of Business Support and Advice, provided through one to one business support and mentoring, and access to a range of workshops and events. In addition to this, the winner will be able to access incubation space in any of the Somerset Enterprise Centres (where available), free of charge for 12 months and a year’s free membership of the Chamber of Commerce, to help them develop their business and raise their profile.
The event takes place at the Creative Innovation Centre (CIC), Taunton on the afternoon of Wednesday 20 September.
