Double your difference at Age UK

Somerset charity, Age UK Somerset, which provides information, support and services to make later life better for the older people of Somerset and North Somerset, is calling on local people to help it gain extra funding through Localgiving’s Grow Your Tenner campaign.

For one month any donations of £10 through their website will be automatically doubled for free! This only applies to donations in the sum of £10, no more, no less.

Any money raised will be used to make winter less lonely for the region’s older people by matching more of them with a local Volunteer Befriender.

Local supporters can help by making a donation during the campaign. Donors can support Age UK Somerset in two ways:

● Set up a monthly donation and after your first six donations, the following six donations will
be matched up to £10 – providing us with over £200 in funding.
● Make a one-time donation and it will be matched up to £10. For a one-time £10 donation
with Gift Aid, Age UK Somerset would receive £21.67!

Phil Dolan, Chief Executive of Age UK Somerset said: “Grow Your Tenner provides a brilliant opportunity for us to bring in funds and engage with our community. All donations make a huge difference and, with the added bonus of doubled donations, we hope the people of Somerset will get involved to help us make later life better for more and more older people in Somerset and North Somerset.”

Chris Dormer, Head of Business Development at Localgiving, said: “Local charities and community groups offer essential services and support the most vulnerable people in society. Our annual Grow Your Tenner campaign provides a great opportunity for local people to connect with groups like Age UK Somerset and offer their support. The campaign also encourages local charities and community groups to engage with online fundraising, a vital funding channel for groups looking to take control of their futures.”
