Witness appeal following robbery on canal path

Avon & Somerset police are appealing for witnesses after a 23-year-old man was robbed while walking on a canal path in Bridgwater.

The victim was walking on the path near Brodway towards Wembdon, close to the Morrisons store, at about 7am on Friday (14 December) when he was approached by two men on bikes.

One of the men grabbed the victim and threw him on the floor before the second man threatened him with a knife.

The offenders took the victim’s wallet and heading off towards Taunton Road.

A police spokesperson commented; “The first offender was wearing a black hooded top with the hood over his face. He was about 5ft 6ins to 5ft 7ins, of skinny build, in his mid-twenties and possibly riding a dark coloured BMX.”

“The second offender was wearing a similar hooded top, was around the same height, also skinny and riding a small dark coloured BMX.”
