Appeal after attempted robbery of teenager

Avon & Somerset Police are appealing for help after the attempted robbery of a teenager in Monkton Heathfield, Taunton.

It happened at about 8pm on Wednesday 3 June as a 16-year-old boy walked along School Road.

Near the end of the road he was approached by two men who appeared out of the footpath. One man punched him, knocking him to the ground and trying to take his bag. The boy managed to regain his feet and run away down a footpath. Nothing was stolen.

Both men were white and aged 19 or 20. One was about 5ft 9ins tall. He had stubble on his face and wore a black hoody and skinny black trousers. The other was slightly shorter and wore a light-coloured hoody and skinny black trousers.

The busy road is used by dog walkers and people visiting the nearby Co-op.
