13 weeks of roadworks on A38

A38 Re-opened after crash by Sheppy’s Cider Farm

A serious crash on the A38 between Wellington & Taunton closed the road for over an hour earlier today between the World’s End pub and Rumwell.

Two vehicles were involved in an accident which happened at 12.40 pm today, Jan 30th.

A fire appliance from Taunton was mobilised to a report of a vehicle smoking following an RTC.

A spokesperson commented; “Upon arrival crews confirmed one person was medically trapped with possible spinal injuries and requested a further fire appliance which came from Wellington.”

“Crews used small tools to assist the Ambulance Service in removing the casualty and made the vehicle safe whilst preserving the scene of the incident.”

PCSO Simon Bramley said: “The A38 is now open between Wellington and Taunton and traffic has started to move.

“The injured have been conveyed to MPH by ambulance. Thank you for your cooperation.”
