Can you help Police after serious crash

Avon & Somerset Police are asking for help following a serious road traffic accident.

A spokesperson commented; “We are keen to hear from motorists who were travelling along the A303 on March 31st. A serious road road traffic collision happened at about 4.25pm between Southfields and South Petherton – four vehicles were involved.”

“A Ford Kuga which was travelling in the eastbound lane was in collision with a Vauxhall Astra travelling in the opposite direction. The collision happened on the westbound lane near to Ilminster by-pass.”

“Two other vehicles were also involved when they tried to avoid the first two vehicles. A total of 11 people taken to hospital.”

“Injuries to two women were more serious – one woman was taken to Musgrove Park Hospital with suspected broken ribs. Another woman was taken to Southmead Hospital with serious leg and chest injuries, where she remains in a stable condition.”

“We’re keen to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident who may have information to help us piece together what happened. We are particularly interested in hearing from anyone who may have seen the Ford Kuga before the collision or has dash cam footage of the incident.”
