Modou N’Diaye live at the EMN Hall Monksilver

This gig is part of the launch tour for “Tamala” the band’s new album with a mix of traditional and modern sounds, the result of which cannot fail to leave you invigorated and inspired!
Modou N’Diaye is a virtuoso kora player and percussionist with a superb repertoire of rhythms. He plays a variety of West African instruments ranging from djembe, sabar, calabash and talking drum to his leading instrument – the 22 stringed kora (West African Harp). Modou is a member of the famous Cissokho family of Griot musicians and oral historians from the Cassamance region of Southern Senegal.
Since arriving in the UK in 2002, Modou N’diaye has mesmerised audiences at many UK festivals including Glastonbury, Womad, Brighton, Bristol’s St Paul’s Carnival and Harbourside Festivals, as well as performing at in Europe and in countries further afield such as Montserrat, Antigua and Barbados.
Doors and the licensed bar open at 8pm and the band is on-stage at 8:30pm.
