Black History Month – Somerset

7 October 2018 - 12:00 pm - 5:00 pm

| Free

Preparations are under away for our Somerset Multicultural launch event something which has been put together with the aims of bringing BME people who live in rural Somerset together, as well as bringing the community together as a whole to learn about and celebrate Black history and culture. The event is a free family fun day from 12pm until 5pm and is scheduled to take place at the Red Brick Building Glastonbury on Sunday October 7th.

The day itself is set to be fun filled, with performances from the esteemed African Caribbean Theatre Company Tangle who will be performing a piece called Water Bread Salt, as well as music of black origin from local schools, Bath based Hip Hop duo Benji & Hibbz and local Millfield alumni Oska Zaky. We will also be holding educational talks and running kids craft sessions as well as an African dance workshop and performance. My Caribbean Corner will be running a food stall for the day providing some sumptuous Caribbean cuisine.
