Halcon Centre clients looking for support with Shoebox Appeal

Clients at the Halcon Centre are looking for support with their Shoebox Appeal for the Samaritan’s Purse.

Clients and staff at the Taunton respite centre wanted to give something back to those less fortunate and signed up to the Shoebox Appeal, which provides boxes of gifts and toiletries to children in need at Christmas time. They’ve already gathered a collection of shoeboxes and gifts, but would greatly appreciate any further donations so that they can send as many boxes as possible to this worthy cause.

Kevin Mellor, Manager at the Halcon Centre, said: “We’re delighted to be supporting the Shoebox Appeal this year. It’s something that everyone at the Halcon Centre can get involved in to make a difference to the lives of less fortunate children. Everyone has really enjoyed helping to decide what goes in the boxes and picking gifts to send.”

If you have any spare shoeboxes or gifts that you would like to donate please drop them off by 9th November at the Halcon Centre, Huish Close, Hamilton Road, Taunton. Gifts can include; dolls, stuffed toys, yo-yos, skipping ropes, puzzles, stationery sets, colouring books, jewellery, hats, toiletries and wrapped sweets with a best before date of at least March 2017.
